RE: Space Heaters

We use an oil filled radiator type. No noise tho on occassion will turn on the AC fan as it will circulate the warm air that collects at the ceiling.

RE: New Forum

Firedude, I believe there are many resources on the net to get a good idea of how some workampers are treated at certain parks and this forum as-is serves to that end. It does not however give the park owner/manager a rebutal. As far as traveling x miles to find a position not up to expectations, I would not have traveled that distance without a contingency plan to start with and really wanted to be in that area in the first place. I do agree that employers have no business in changing the program and not keeping up their end of the bargain. I have also had workampers that talked the talk but could not walk the walk. Nice to talk to you again.

RE: New Forum

I think that the personal experience of interaction is very individualistic. What does that mean? I do not like every person that I have ever met and some of them probably don't care for me. Does that mean that I or they are bad people, no!. We all have differences of opinions. Some are more suited to giving orders than receiving. Some are proactive others are lazy. For workampers to vent on employers is no more fair or unreasonable than for employers to blackball certain workampers. You play the game and take your chances. If it is not to your liking then simply move on. There will always be someone to take your place as there are many more entering RV'ing than leaving. For that next person or couple it may be a truly rewarding experience. Let the sleeping dog lie.

RE: Gibbs Penalties Announced - NASCAR Nationwide Series

"I hope NASCAR dosen't get like the WWF". Where have you been? It started several years ago and is getting progressively worse. Wait now, I hear Danica is getting ready to make her appearance and save the day. Wow, that's another joke.

RE: Advice road trip -Chgo to Olympia/Lacey WA

It's wide open freeways all the way unless she gets lost. Weather should not be a problem. Have her mechanic check the car for her before she leaves.

RE: Red Skelton and the Pledge of Alliance

We have a copy of his Pledge poster but I can't remember if it is signed or not. It is currently tucked away in a tote. Also have a small collection of his signed lithos and plates. Another funny man was Victor Borga. Have a great day!

RE: thinking of remodeling home

Questions to ask your self. What is the age and value of your home compared to your neighbor hood? How long to want to remain where you are till retirement and downsizing? The two biggest returns in a remodel are kitchen and bath, which you do not mention. What is the construction? Slab on grade in basement or main floor? Plaster walls or drywall? The plumbing/heatings costs would be the first to check out. You are potentially looking at some significant costs if you do most of the mentioned. Go back and answer question 1. Some of the tasks you can do if you have some carpentry skills. Flooring, deck, and windows. Like jcapps said I have little use for BBB. In fact I got help from a master licensed electrician from Craigs list, but I have been around the building trades for a long time and know what to look for. Best wishes and we will try to help you.

Chinese "athlete" farms

Really kinda sad that the Chinese are farm raising their athletes. This is not a political statement, more a comment on quality of life.

RE: Best route through Phoenix

Here is another option... South on 17, East on 101, East on 303, South on Ellsworth, East on 60, South on 79. Do a google map and see your route. Keeps you out of downtown.

RE: MSN says RV vacations thrifty

Relax and take these articles with a large grain/box of salt. The writer has no knowledge of RV'ing and it is a story. Besides MSN tends to push headlines to get you to read the article only to find out the substance is a different story.

RE: Things to know about Texas

The true definition of a Texan is? This is a joke not to offend all the good Texans here. A "person" from "south of the border" that didn't have enuf money to make it to that state "north of the border".
